Our Mission
To integrate renewable energy (wind & solar), 100% Renewables, in the power mix of the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) consumers and off-grid communities through Hi-tech Smart Energy Management System (Smart EMS) with lithium batteries and / or hydrogen energy storage systems, through Community-ownership model; and to supply excess electricity to the utility, PESCO etc. through net metering scheme.
Secondly, to increase the profitability of these consumers to earn carbon credits for them, to secure energy security and to enable them to fulfil their responsibility toward environment, ‘combating climate change with renewables.’
Squadron Leader (R) Muhammad Kaleem
Founder Director and CEO
the Founder Director and CEO of the Company, is having MBA (Finance), MA (English), BA, LLB degrees to his credit and is honored to be the ‘life member’ of Peshawar High Court. He has served Pakistan Air Force as commissioned officer in the ‘Administration & Special Duty (A&SD) Branch’ and retired as Squadron Leader after about 20 years, including three years’ re-employment as Instructor at Directorate of Studies, PAF Academy, Risalpur. Pakistan.
He was responsible, beside operational duties, for the supervision and inspections of the annual tree plantation competitions at various bases in the Directorate of Welfare, Air Headquarters, Islamabad. Similarly, during his tenure at PAF Base, Samungli, Quetta, he worked with the Environment Protection Agency (EPA), Baluchistan, to close the coal-fueled brick kilns in Quetta valley, which were causing air pollution, hazardous not only to the safety of aircraft operations but also injurious to the public health.
These were the motivations behind establishing ‘Pak Renewables’ (Prel). The ‘Energy & Environment’ are inter-related to each other and play a very vital role in the climate change. The inappropriate use of fossil fuel has environmental impacts on our air, water and land; e.g., the fuel-wood supply is decreasing in the northern areas of Pakistan due to over-cutting which resulted in deforestation has badly affected the environment, one of the major causes of climate change, resulting the devastating floods in the past few decades.
As mitigation and adaption measures, we are offering small portable Do-It-Yourself (DIY) biogas kits – biogas, the natural renewable energy and Building Integrated Vertical Axis Wind Turbines (VAWT), to the local communities living the remote, hilly areas where manure and wind, both are found in abundance. But, the ‘Technology’ has a cost, which cannot be afforded by the communities living in the remote hilly northern parts; so, we are working the government organizations, NGOs and international donor agencies like UNDP, Green Climate Fund (GCF), Ministry of Climate Change, Islamabad, to mass supply the said biogas kits and mini VAWT at affordable monthly installments schemes through microfinance banks to elevate the living standard these communities and to combat climate change with renewables.
